Résumé

Nowadays, a lot of low grade thermal energy hasn’t been utilized as low as condensing heat of a conventional compression refrigeration system. While low grade heat is large in scale as energy sources, usually, it is directly emitted to the surrounding. Especially, a lot of low grade heat with temperatures of 45 ~ 55°C hasn’t been utilized to achieve cooling of 7°C, i.e., condensing heat of a conventional compression refrigeration system. Thus, a lot of energy is wasted, and the environment is heavily polluted by the heat. And hence, more and more researchers focus on developing new technique on the utilization of low grade heat. A classical two-stage absorption refrigeration system is usually used to utilize heat sources as low as 55 ~ 65°C, and shows great importance in utilizing low grade heat. The developed absorption-compression refrigeration techniques also show good potential. But they still meet great difficulty in making use of 45 ~ 55°C heat. As a result, a novel hybrid refrigeration system is proposed to utilize such low grade heat. It is composed of a two-stage absorption refrigeration subsystem and a conventional compression refrigeration one. R134a is chosen for the compression subsystem and the LiBr-H2O pair for the absorption subsystem. Based on the models of this novel system, theoretical study is carried out on the performance of the system. The main effects are discussed on the COPnet (the ratio of low grade heat powered refrigeration capacity to the generator heat consumption, which cut off that mechanical work powered) in this context. It is found that the proposed system can recycle the 45 ~ 55°C condensing heat of the conventional compression refrigeration system. The novel system’s COPnet can be improved by 18 ~ 35 % in utilizing 55 ~ 65°C low grade heat, compared with the classical two-stage absorption refrigeration system. The novel system shows the advantage of utilizing low grade heat as low as 45 ~ 50°C. Certainly, the novel system shows many more complicated characteristics.
