Statistical approach to calculate thermodynamic properties of propane.

Résumé

For the purpose of computing fundamental thermodynamic properties of real fluids, a model on the basis of perturbation theory around the Lennard-Jones intermolecular potential was applied in the study. Among several available methods to take into account of anisotropy in potential, the authors have selected the model by which they can expect favourable results in practical computations for a considerable number of components in a wide range of temperatures and densities. The model was derived to include the contributions up to octopole moment. A systematic comparison of the statistical model with available analytical models, shows some satisfactory agreements.
