Résumé

This guide deals with prefabricated insulating panels and their use in cold stores in South Africa. A cold store may be defined as a sealed structure the internal volume of which is maintained at a temperature generally below ambient and used for the storage of goods. The guide is intended for cold stores larger than 20 m3. The following themes are dealt with: design; materials used in cold store construction; fabrication (quality control; works testing and inspection; storage at Manufacturer's premises; transportation and storage at site); construction (examining and testing panels on site; migration of moisture; safety); ancillary items (doors); floors; performance (commissioning; maintenance; recommendations.
