Résumé
Commercial refrigeration equipment is constantly evolving, especially in recent years where the interest in energy efficiency coupled with the phase down programmed by the F-Gas regulation is prompting managers and decision-makers of solutions to better understand the equipment offered to them. Optimisation also means greater sensitivity of the equipment to its environment. Variable set points are designed to determine the optimum coupling points between the thermal comfort of users and the energy consumption of the cooling units. The optimisation of the whole requires the use of models that must be fed with real equipment data. Air conditioning systems are normally tested to estimate their thermal and energy performance over a wide climatic window. This is not the case with commercial refrigeration equipment which is usually tested at a fixed outdoor temperature.
The purpose of this paper is to present some test results obtained following the iterative development of a test bench for water-cooled commercial refrigeration appliances where 4 variables will be observed with these appliances temperature set point and doors opening patterns, shop’s ambient temperature and air humidity percentage. An energy model will then be proposed showing the benefits that can be expected from the adoption of multi-parameter variable set points.
