Résumé

Various refrigerant options are under evaluation based on energy efficiency and environment impacts in commercial refrigeration industry. This work examines the enhancement of energy efficiency in Hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) refrigeration systems through innovative engineering modifications and operational adjustments. R-448A/R-449A, the non-flammable viable alternative to traditional Hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) systems in commercial refrigeration, are investigated as a baseline. The low global warming potential HFO options with increasing popularity, such as R-454A, R-454C, and R-455A, are studied with comparison to the state-of-the-art CO2 system. The improved HFO systems significantly decrease energy consumption and reduce CO2 emissions.
