Comparaison en termes énergétiques et exergétiques de systèmes de polygénération et de cogénération.

Energy and exergy efficiency comparison of polygeneration and cogeneration systems.

Auteurs : KILKIS B., KILKIS S.

Résumé

This paper is an account of the results of an exergy based evaluation of the EU FP6 HEGEL combined-cycle, high efficiency poly-generation research project. In this study, the overall performance of a bottoming-cycle, high efficiency polygeneration system was compared with a cogeneration system for environmental, technological, and economical points of view. The results show that while the rational exergy management efficiency increases in polygeneration, the energy efficiency decreases slightly and presents an interesting optimization problem. The HEGEL project design was compared with an off-the shelf cogeneration system and was determined that a bottoming cycle contributes to the carbon reductions efforts much more than a cogeneration system, even though its energy efficiency drops a few percentage points.
