Résumé

In the last 10 years, the number of absorption refrigeration systems increased rapidly and this trend will not change in the near future. The reason for this development is the apparently ecological functioning of such units. By using the cooling equipment of the Theaterplatz Dresden as an example, it can be demonstrated that an accurate investigation and certain boundary conditions are necessary, in order to prove the environmental impact of the absorption refrigeration system, compared with a compression one.
