Résumé

This publication contains 21 papers presented at this IIR workshop, held in Vienna, Austria. Topics: hygiene and indoor environment quality (air conditioning: health implications, lessons learnt; thermal comfort and air quality); thermal comfort (breathing thermal manikin for assessment of indoor environment in spaces; manfitted measurement and visualization of the thermal environment; subjective thermal comfort in railway vehicles; HVAC systems and components (bus-air conditioning: sorption technology; air-cycle air conditioning for railway vehicles; concepts for the future; refrigerant charge and pressure drop during boiling of R134a and CO2 in minichannel exchangers; replacement of Freon-12 to ozone-safe refrigerants in everyday and small cooling units; development of passenger comfort analysis); simulation and CFD (support of vehicle projects using CFD in the design and validation process; CFD in the railroad industry: comfort simulation and thermal management optimization; optimization of R134a and refrigerant circuits in vehicles using simulation tools; railroad air-conditioning system behaviour in transitional thermal regimes; development of a passenger car air-conditioning pull-down simulation tool); HVAC-solutions in different transport modes (aircraft air conditioning; future demands on climate comfort in rail vehicles); energy efficiency (energy saving potential for the air conditioning of railway vehicles; energy management in railway vehicles: analysis of energy consumption under testing conditions); research and testing (the new climatic wind tunnel at RTA).
