Résumé

This paper described the optimization of the operation conditions for CO2 heat pump, which produces hot tap water and ice water for a dairy factory. The analysis revealed that the volume of the storage tank for hot water accumulation was not sufficient. This led to discontinuous operation of the heat pump and to excessive use of district heating. The optimum storage tank of 3.0 m3 provided 1.9 % of energy savings and continuous work of the system. The gas cooler performance at different gas cooler pressures and different compressor frequency were evaluated. Optimum gas cooler pressure, which refers to the highest COP, was found to be in the range between 95.6 and 99.9 bars depending on frequency of the compressor’s motor. This provided the gas cooler performance in the range between 82.6 and 167.5 kW. The optimum COP of the system was in the range between 3.59 and 3.54.
