Résumé

For designing building HVAC system, the annual energy efficiency of multiple-chiller system is usually required to be not lower than a limit. In the conventional design method, the capacity configuration is optimized to achieve the required energy efficiency limit according to a deterministic annual cooling load profile. Actually, the annual cooling load profile of building varies with changing of weather and occupied conditions. The uncertainty of load may result in the actual energy efficiency being lower than the required energy efficiency limit. In order to improve the tolerance for the uncertainty of load, this paper proposes a novel method to configure multiple-chiller system based on robustness evaluation. The maximum acceptable uncertainty region is defined that can satisfy the required energy efficiency limit for the capacity configuration, and the method of obtaining the maximum acceptable uncertainty region is presented using particle swarm optimization algorithm. The robustness index is defined based on the maximum acceptable uncertainty region, and a novel configuration method based on robustness index is presented. A case study is conducted to validate the proposed method for capacity configurating the multiple-chillers system, and the results show that the proposed method is an impactful solution for capacity configuration with load uncertainty.
