Résumé
The research project called VaicteurAir2 initiated by CIAT company and grouping several academic and industrial partners, deals with energy efficiency, comfort and indoor air quality in buildings. One of the topics addressed in the frame of this project concerns indoor particle matter in office buildings. The particle concentration in office buildings is not only dependent of the particles coming from outside but also of the production of indoor sources, due to human activity and devices, like printers, or photocopiers. Filtering the air coming into the buildings for ventilation is not enough. It is also necessary to filter the air directly in the occupied zone of the buildings. This is the role of the Epure solution designed by CIAT and implemented in its comfort units. In order to control more accurately the indoor fine particle concentration, the Epure function will soon be complemented with a sensor, monitoring continuously the PM2.5 concentration. This paper first presents some measurements performed to characterize different indoor sources of particles. Then some results are given concerning different on-site campaigns showing how the Epure function can manage to lower particle concentration in office buildings and guarantee the respect of the threshold values proposed by WHO for PM2.5. Finally, some elements concerning the design and the characterization of a prototype of PM2.5 particle sensor are presented.
