Corrosion du métal sur les conteneurs frigorifiques maritimes.

Metal corrosion in marine refrigerated containers.

Auteurs : LAWTON A. R., RHODES C.

Résumé

Marine refrigerated containers have a substantial amount of Aluminum and Copper within the cargo area. Not only is the floor constructed of extruded aluminum ‘T’ section but also the evaporator fins along with other surface and structural components. The pipe work of the refrigeration system is constructed entirely of copper. In many cases significant corrosion occurs which not only makes the inside of containers unsightly and less hygienic but can affect their efficiency and structural integrity. Information is presented on the causes of the corrosion and possible methods of prevention are discussed.
