Résumé

Shifting LNG supply agreement appetite revealed challenges for the current project development cycle in 2024, well before new US trade policy set the stage for further erosion of project fundamentals. LNG’s cyclicality increasingly imperils the industry’s future as scarcity undermines the case for imports. LNG abundance, while difficult for sellers at times, may be key to LNG’s longer-term viability, led by advantaged projects.
