Cycle frigorifique au CO2 à éjecteur : conception, essais et résultats.

CO2 ejector refrigeration cycle: design, tests and results.

Résumé

An ejector expansion for transcritical CO2 refrigeration cycles is proposed aiming at improving the energy performances of the reference transcritical cycle by reducing the expansion losses. A 1D model has been developed in order to investigate the ejector performance using supercritical CO2 as fluid and to design ejectors. A test bench for ejectors is described. The designed ejectors are sized for 2°C evaporation temperature and for 35°C gas cooler outlet temperature. Three nozzles and six bodies, constituting eighteen different ejectors, are tested and results of prototype ejectors using CO2 are presented. The effect of constant pressure mixing chamber length on ejector performance is investigated experimentally. The control of the cycle high pressure is described and tested on the test bench. The COP of the ejector expansion transcritical CO2 cycle can be improved by more than 15% compared to the basic transcritical cycle for typical air-conditioning operating conditions.
