Résumé

The authors developed a CO2 refrigeration unit and CO2 showcases for supermarkets. Before developing the CO2 refrigeration system, estimates were prepared for four kinds of refrigeration circuits for the CO2 transcritical cycle in our laboratory. This showed the cycle with a split-cycle and a suction line heat exchanger had the best coefficient of performance at each condition of low ambient temperature and high ambient temperature. By installing two CO2 rotary two-stage compressors and a split-cycle into the refrigeration unit, the CO2 transcritical system achieved a high coefficient of performance. This system was installed at a Supermarket last year and the authors have been estimating the system performance. The test results will be presented in a later paper. This year, the authors have further plans to install and begin evaluation testing of the CO2 refrigeration open-showcases system using waste heat from a gas-cooler as hot water for sanitation at another supermarket. This paper introduces the specifications and features of this CO2 system for freezer showcases.
