Résumé

The most effective means of improving the operating rate of generators is the introduction of an ice storage system using economical night-time power. Three Japanese companies initiated a joint study focusing on ways of reducing the cost of constructing cold water piping and reducing transport power. Since slurry ice transportation makes use of the latent heat of ice, the quantity of ice transported corresponds to a cooling load approximately one-fifth that of conventional methods.
