Résumé

A highly effective magnetic heat pump system using a permanent magnet with a rotational mechanism has been developed as a national project in Japan. The goal of our research and development as a “Next Generation Heat Pump System” for developing practical-use heat pump technology using the magnetocaloric effect is to establish prospects for early realization of a magnetic heat pump based on demonstration results. A magnetic heat pump was designed and produced using a cascading connection with multiple magnetocaloric materials so that a maximum refrigeration capacity of kW class was achieved, and efficiency (COP) at a temperature difference of 10 K or more was estimated. Also, research and development of magnetocaloric materials heat exchanger heat-transfer enhancement and pressure loss reduction techniques, a heat exchanger for magnetic heat pump cooling, magnetocaloric effect heat-transfer simulation technique, an arbitrary shape processing technology for the magnetocaloric materials were carried out.
