Résumé

By means of the reciprocating motion of the oscillating flow, the temperature gradient superimposed on the solid matrix was modulated into a transverse thermal wave (temperature wave). It results in the periodic heat exchange between solid matrix and the oscillating flow. The transverse thermal wave generated by diffusion and wave is of dual nature of the diffusion and wave. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the transverse temperature distribution inside the micro-channel of a thermoacoustic regenerator (or a stack) based on the wave theory. The velocity field and the transverse temperature field of the system are analyzed by means of solving the governing equations for the flow. The influence of the system construction and the penetration depth on both the real part and the imaginary part of the temperature field is studied. The irreversible model established in the paper reveals the boundary layer effects of the viscosity and thermal conduction. The results obtained herein may be useful for the understanding of the thermoacoustic effect mechanism.
