Résumé

Clean room HVAC systems can consume up to 50 times more energy than those used in commercial spaces of the same size. The airflow change rate in clean rooms (15 to 600 ACH) is typically higher than in general purpose buildings (6 to 25 ACH). The airflow rate in clean rooms needs to meet not only the heating and cooling loads, but also the dilution requirement to reduce room particle concentration. Saving a small percentage of air volume in a clean room facility could meet the supply air needs of an entire general purpose building. Therefore, potential fan energy savings in clean room facilities is significant.
