Résumé

The La[Fe(11.1)Co(0.8)Si(1.1)]B(0.25) alloys, which are scale produced from industry purity materials in industry medium frequency furnace, have large magnetic entropy change and adiabatic temperature change. The alloy consists of three phases, mostly NaZn(13) type base-phase, and some Fe-rich phase and La-rich phase. The La-rich phase all concentrated on phase boundaries. The Fe-rich phase disperses in the alloy. Annealing for 150 h does not change distribution of three phases. The magnetic entropy change of the alloy annealed for 30 and 150 h are almost the same. And the adiabatic temperature changes of air-quenched and water-quenched alloys after annealing are almost the same. The adiabatic temperature change and magnetic entropy change of strip-casting alloy are much lower than those of the mould-casting alloy, which is illustrated by quick cooling from high temperature not favourable to formation of NaZn(13) phase.
