Résumé

Cut flowers were pulsed with silver thiosulfate, then held in preservative solutions or stored at 1 deg C. The best harvesting stage was when 7-9 florets/spike were open. The FW, number of opened florets/spike and vase life of flowers harvested at this stage were better compared with flowers harvested at earlier stages. A preservative solution prolonged vase life and increased the number of opened florets, but caused excessive elongation of the spike tip. The addition of 50 parts per million daminozide to this solution improved flower quality. The vase life of flowers held in a solution containing 33% soda water was longer than that of control flowers (in water). Ethylene caused floret abscission.
