Résumé

Cut flowers of Rosa hybrida cv. Raktagandha were pulsed with 3% sucrose + 150 ppm 8-hydroxyquinoline citrate or held in water (controls) for 24 h at room temperature and subsequently stored at 3 °C for up to 8 days. Pulsed cut roses stored at 3 °C for 8 days had increased flower diameter (9.35 cm) compared to controls (8.07 cm). Total water uptake and vase life, 15.19 ml and 9.02 days, respectively, were higher in pulsed cut roses compared to controls. Flower diameter, total water uptake and vase life were highest after one day of storage.
