Numéro : 08

Auteurs : BRAVO K.

Résumé

Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) is emerging as a strategically region in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market. Increasing energy demand, the seek to diversify energy sources, and commitments to decarbonization have positioned LNG as an important transitional fuel for power generation, industrial growth, and energy security. This abstract examines the evolving LNG
landscape in LAC, with particular attention to infrastructure development, market integration, and the region’s contribution to the global energy transition. It discusses recent trends in LNG import and export projects, the rising importance of floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs), and the expanding role of small- and medium-scale LNG solutions. The analysis further explores the relationship between global LNG market fundamentals and regional demand drivers, identifying both opportunities and challenges for sustainable LNG development in LAC.
