Estimation de la demande en énergie et des émissions du transport à température contrôlée au Royaume-Uni pendant l’année de référence 2019 à l’aide d’un modèle ascendant.

Estimation of the UK 2019 Baseline Year’s Energy Demand and Emissions of Temperature-Controlled Transport Using a Bottom-Up Model.

Résumé

This paper uses a bottom-up approach to estimate the energy demand, cooling demand, and emissions of temperature-controlled transport (vehicles and fishing vessels) for the UK baseline year 2019. The refrigerated vehicles were categorised according to their sizes into vans, rigid and articulated. On the other hand, fishing vessels were classified according to the vessel length into <10 m, from 10-24 m and > 24 m. Our estimation included the emissions due to the energy consumption (indirect emissions) by the vehicles’ engines, TURs, and fishing vessels’ engines in addition to the direct emissions due to the fugitive refrigerant used in TRUs. The latter was estimated for land transport only. The estimated UK's baseline year 2019 energy and cooling demand and emissions were about 39.4 TWh, 8.36 TWh and 10.88 MtCO2e, respectively.
