Résumé

In this study, thermodynamic performance comparison and comprehensive theoretic thermodynamic cycle simulation analysis of the R32 and R410A refrigerants under various air-conditioning operating conditions were carried out. The cooling and heating performance of the two refrigerants under several different outdoor environmental conditions were experimentally conducted in an identical 3.2 kW residential heat pump air conditioner. It was shown that R32 refrigerant had better thermodynamic performance than that of R410A. Compared to R410A, theoretic thermodynamic cycle of R32 had the best performance improvement at high temperature cooling condition with 14.95% higher cooling capacity and 6.01% higher energy efficiency ratio (EER), and volumetric cooling capacity and heating capacity of R32 increased 6.96~8.87% at the other conditions. Furthermore, the coefficient of performance (COP) in heating mode of R32 was comparable with that of R410A. The air-conditioner performance tested results showed that refrigerant charge of R32 system was reduced 24% as compared to that of R410A system, and that R32 system had higher cooling capacity and EER and comparable heating capacity and COP under all tested conditions, with 8.04% higher cooling capacity and 3.27% higher EER at rated cooling condition and 3.05% higher heating capacity and 2.29% higher COP at rated heating condition. In addition, the cooling capacity of R32 system degraded more slowly than that of R410A system with increasing outdoor environment temperature. The theoretic thermodynamic cycle simulation and experimental test results both showed that the discharge temperature of R32 system were higher than that of R410A, with about 11.5~25.7°C higher under tested conditions, and R32 discharge temperature of experimental test at high temperature cooling and high temperature heating conditions even reached 114.9 and 113.6°C, respectively. Hence, how to reduce the discharge temperature and provide the comparable performance of R32 system to that of R410A will be the future work as the long-term alternatives in residential air conditioning applications.
