Résumé

The research reported here presents the results of an experimental investigation of the adsorption performance of combinations of activated carbon and different forms of graphene oxide, and activated carbon and reduced grapheme oxide containing nitrogen, in mixtures. The materials can be used as adsorbent materials for CO2, with application potential in CO2 capture and storage systems. The specific adsorbance was found to increase with the addition of graphene oxides to activated carbon. It was also found that it increases in the sequence: expanded graphene oxide, exfoliated graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide containing nitrogen. Adsorption isotherms and isobars were developed and the results compared with pure activated carbon, for samples with weight percentages of expanded graphene oxide, exfoliated graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide containing nitrogen, up to 25%, 32.5%, 42% and 50%, respectively.
