Résumé

CO2 (R744) is a potential substitute for synthesized refrigerants. It offers favorable environmental properties, but it requires refrigeration system to be designed specifically for transcritical CO2 cycle. Energetic and thermodynamic analyses, as well as, optimization studies on isentropic and nonisentropic compression are discussed in several papers. However, the influence of throttling process occurring inside capillary tube – an element, which is widely used in low efficiency systems – is neither straightforward nor obvious. This paper presents a diabatic homogeneous-bubble model of a CO2 flow through a capillary tube, in where carbon dioxide undergoes a phase change from supercritical flow into subcritical two-phase flow. This model is based on fundamental conservation equations that are solved simultaneously through series of iterations. Relations between gas pressure in the cooler, evaporating temperature, and other working parameters are presented and analyzed in detail.
