Etude sur la stabilité de l'interface vapeur-liquide de l'ébullition pelliculaire dans l'He II.

An investigation of the stability of the vapour-liquid interface of the film boiling in He II.

Résumé

In the study, the effects of the heat flux and the bath temperature on the boundary map of the different boiling modes are theoretically explained. By using the method of molecular-kinetic theory with the equation of Boltzmann, the non-equilibrium evaporation and condensation process has been studied, which leads to the prediction of the critical immersion depth for noisy film boiling. The critical immersion depth for silent film boiling is also predicted by considering the stability of the vapour-boiling interface. It is found that the experimental results agree rather well with the predicted ones.
