Résumé
Knowledge of the temperature and strain distribution (TSD) in a superconductor coil will help for an optimized SC magnet design. Finding a suitable sensor for measuring TSD is a critical issue. Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) coated with relatively high thermal expansion material (TCE) can be used to measure these parameters. The temperature measurements were made by varying the temperature (296-10 K) at constant strain and the strain measurement was done by varying strain (0-0.6%) at constant temperature. The variation in the temperature/strain will vary the Bragg wavelength, which can be read out with optical spectrum analyzer. The results were reported.
