Theoretical and experimental investigations on applications of thermal insulation coatings in building air-conditioning energy conservation.
Résumé
One of the key problems for building energy conservation is how to improve the thermal insulation performance of the building enclosures. In recent years, a kind of new technology of thermal insulation has been developed, that is, to cover the surfaces of buildings with a kind of thermal insulation coatings (TICs). The TICs are the coatings filled with the hollow ceramic micro-sphere (CMS). Because the effective thermal conductivity of hollow CMS is very low and the bulk heat transfer performance of the coatings could be suppressed, such kind of coatings has important applications in the cases of high temperature, such as engines, flight vehicles of supersonic speed, and furnaces with high temperature. In recent years, some researchers have tried to apply this kind of coatings to the thermal insulation of building walls. But, because the temperature differences of thermal insulation has decreased from hundreds of degrees centigrade to tens, the heat transfer mechanism and insulation effects under the two conditions are very different, consequently, it's necessary to study and evaluate the performance and effects of TICs for the work conditions of building walls.
