Évaluation au moyen d'un banc d'essai des performances de transfert de chaleur par convection pour un nanofluide dérivé du graphène.

Evaluation of the convective heat transfer performance for a graphene derivative nanofluid through a test rig.

Résumé

Graphene has shown exceptional thermal properties which are partly maintained in its multi-layered form, graphene nanoplatelets (GnP). Since these carbon-base nanostructures are hydrophobic, a functionalization is needed in order to assess long-term stability of the aqueous suspensions. In this study, the convective heat transfer performance of a polycarboxylate chemically modified GnP dispersion in water at 0.50 wt% was experimentally analysed. Dynamic viscosity, thermal conductivity, isobaric heat capacity and density were measured by rotational rheometry, transient hot wire technique, differential scanning calorimetry and vibrating U-tube methods, respectively, in a wide temperature range. The whole analysis of thermophysical and rheological properties were validated between two laboratories. Afterwards, an experimental facility was used to evaluate the heat transfer performance. The convective heat transfer coefficients were obtained through the thermal resistances method, reaching enhancements for the nanofluid of up to 13%. Finally, dimensionless analyses were carried out by employing Nusselt, Reynolds or Prandtl numbers.
