Résumé

In the study, the performance characteristics of a 457 kW GHP (gas engine-driven heat pump) chiller have been investigated by a simulation model analysis, for both chilling and heating modes. From the results of the analysis, it was found that the part-load characteristics of the GHP chiller are fairly well. A computer simulation program has been developed for the evaluation of GHP chiller systems for air-conditioning and hot water supply. The simulation programme estimates hourly, monthly and annual energy consumption and CO2 emissions with the data of thermal loads on the buildings, outdoor air conditions, and characteristics of the components comprising the systems. By applying this to some cases of medium-scale hotel, office, shop, and hospital buildings, it has been found that the GHP chiller systems have advantages particularly in the cases of hotels and hospitals, where a lot of hot water demands exist. It has also been found that the combination of a GHP chiller and a direct-fired absorption chiller/boiler appears promising.
