Expérience sur la formation de buée provenant d'air humide refroidi par des plaques parallèles.

Experiment on mist formation from humid air cooled in parallel plates.

Résumé

The paper deals with an experimental investigation of mist formation from humid air from the cooled parallel plates in the rectangular channel. The influence of relative humidity, inlet air temperature, inlet air velocity and channel width on mist formation formed on two parallel copper plates without special treatment in the channel are investigated. The copper plates contaminated with oil smoke are also tested to clarify the influence of the surface conditions in the channel. The experiment results show that the air velocity is the most influential parameter, which is followed by the inlet air temperature. It is also found that the temperature difference between inlet air and copper plates in the channel required for mist formation on the copper plates contaminated with oil smoke in the channel is lower than that on the copper plates without special treatment.
