Résumé

The theme addresses hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) mainly R22, R141b, R123 which prove to be at a global meeting point uniting international climate change agreements: Montreal Protocol (1987) and Kyoto Protocol (1997). Primary topics discussed are the identification of alternative solutions pertaining to ozone layer formation and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Additional replacement possibilities covered were recently synthesized refrigerants such as hydrofluoroolefins (HFOs) as well as natural working substances, both considered an achievement for the future of low temperature engineering.
