Résumé

For the purpose of the realization of clinical cryopreserved islet transplantation, frozen-thawed human islets were examined in vitro by static incubation and in vitro by transplantation models using diabetic nude mice. In a histological study, round and well-shaped-shape islets were detected beneath the kidney capsule, demonstrating good function of the frozen-thawed human islets. Cryopreservation is the most promising technique for long-term storage of human islets and has many advantages. From the results of the study, it was demonstrated that frozen-thawed human islets had an ability of insulin secretion and potential diabetes cure when enough islets were transplanted. In addition to fresh islet transplantation, frozen-thawed islet transplantation has great potential for clinical application.
