Résumé

In this study, the effect of storing with and without loading on fluid permeability and porosity of ice/water mixture was investigated. Various sizes of sliced ice were used and the specific area before and after storage was measured. It was found that the permeability increased by storing it for 24 hours in water tank at 0 °C. Transformation of sharp edges and rough surfaces on the particles into smoother ones seems to cause the change. Furthermore, storage under various loading conditions was carried out, and it was found that there was a correlation between the viscosity of compression and porosity. Simulation was carried out on permeability and porosity using a large ice storage tank. The buoyancy effect caused to have non-uniform porosity distribution vertically. Permeability distribution and the overall permeability were also calculated, and it was concluded that the expected permeability driven from the average porosity differs from the overall permeability calculated from the permeability distribution.
