Résumé

An ammonia high temperature heat pump has recently been installed at a meat processing plant in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. A perceived problem, namely Monday morning shortfalls of load for the high temperature heat pump, has been overcome. Monitoring of inlet and outlet energy flows has confirmed that the design energy savings have largely been met. As such, the authors believe that this project has demonstrated that the ammonia high temperature heat pump may be considered as a useful tool by Australasian food and primary industries.
