Résumé

According to the authors, natural refrigerants are those which exist in nature, e.g. ammonia, hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide. The authors synthesise series of tests on the use of adsorbents in circuit dehydration with these refrigerants. Liquid ammonia can be dehydrated in molecular sieves to a certain extent, but is insufficient to meet the relevant requirements (maximum: 500 ppm). Further experiment will be carried out with a dehydrator on the suction line, i.e. on gaseous ammonia. The dehydration of carbon dioxide and R134a is less easy than that of hydrocarbons, due to the solubility of water in liquid carbon dioxide and liquid R134a. Furthermore, the maximum acceptable pressure in dehydration filters is 35 hPa, whereas the pressure of transcritical carbon dioxide may be over 100 hPa. Dehydration filters with 100% molecular sieve are specially recommended in carbon dioxide plant with polar-type POE and PAG oils.
