Résumé

These proceedings contain 91 papers (out of which 27 in Croatian) prepared for this 16th scientific Conference, held in Opatija, Croatia, October 28-30, 1998. Basic themes: coastal zone management and land based pollution control; rational energy use; optimization of thermotechnical and thermoenergy systems; renewable energy sources; energy efficiency in tourist management. Extract from the plenary papers: large scale electricity generation from solar thermal power stations; clean energy implementation and standardization; Kyoto Protocol: what are its consequences in the fields of refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps?; energy and new working fluids in mechanical refrigeration; comparison of the performance of a CIAT chiller operating with R22 and R407C fitted with EXEL plate exchangers. Some of the articles will be abstracted in a future issue of the IIR Bulletin.
