The design and research on a low-temperature cold store.

Résumé

The design of a low-temperature cold store and research on its inner liquid field are very important to instruct food storage at low temperatures. The methods of traditional design, numerical simulation and experimental study are used in this paper. Traditional design mainly includes refrigeration systems and control systems. Numerical simulation is used to give the theoretical analysis of temperature reduction characteristics and liquid field, provide reference values and a basis for experimental study. The practical parameters are gained through an experimental study, and compared with the theoretical data. The main refrigeration equipment in the cold store is an air cooler, and refrigerant used in this system is R-22. The net dimension of the cold store is 8000 x 5000 x 2700 mm. The temperature of this cold store could be adjusted from 20 to -20°C, and its temperature control precision could achieve plus or minus 1°C. The mathematical model of temperature reduction characteristics of cold store is set up, the relation between average temperature of each point in cold store and time is also gained using implicit difference equation and Gauss-Seidel iterative method. The mathematical and physical models of liquid field in low temperature cold store are established in this paper, giving Navier-Stokes equation of fluid flow and heat transfer. The turbulence flow of three-dimensional steady incompressible viscous fluid is analyzed using finite volume method and standard kappa-epsilon two-equation model. Temperature and velocity fields of this cold store are simulated using fluent, and the results are also analyzed and compared.
