Résumé

Since the 1st July 2012, synthetic greenhouse gas hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants attract an “equivalent carbon price” based
on their global warming potential. Refrigerant handling and containment practices have to be improved because preventing
refrigerant leaks in systems means reducing refrigerant replacement which in turn means reducing exposure to the new HFC levy.
