Résumé

Flammable refrigerants are in use again in household refrigerators and freezers: this trend began several years ago. International safety standards have been developed to cover this, with an actual refrigerant charge limit of 150 g. For applications with higher charge needs, the situation regarding safety standards is more complex. The article highlights the status of standardization using propane as an example.
