Les lacs comme source de chaleur dans les climats froids.

Lakes as a heat source in cold climates.

Auteurs : AITTOMÄKI A.

Résumé

In cold northern climates, the temperature level of lakes during the winter is relatively high compared with the outdoor air and even soil. Therefore, lake water is favourable as a heat source for heat pump heating. The lakes available are usually shallow and the question arises concerning the temperature conditions as a possible limitation for utilization. To study the possibilities of exploiting shallow lakes in cold climatic conditions, a model for temperature behaviour in lakes has been developed. The heat exchange between the water or ice surface and the atmosphere is included as well as vertical heat transfer in the water column and in the sediment layer. The forming of the ice cover is dealt with by simplifying the heat transfer in the ice layer. Ice formation around the heat extraction pipe is studied under steady-state conditions. The model is applied to the studying of the influence of different heat-extraction factors.
