Résumé

Temperature boundaries of natural gas separation process are a key performance of crude oil refinement and utilization. The problem of energy efficiency improvement for the propane refrigeration units (PRU) as a part of refrigerating system which provides a low temperature condensation of natural gas is studied. Opportunities to decrease the cooling flow temperature by replacement of pure propane by the propane/ethane (R290/R170) blend are discussed. The optimum operation modes of the PRU as well as its energy characteristics are given. Analysis and comparison of compressor performance demonstrate the advantages of propane/ethane (R290/R170) blend as a prospective natural refrigerant.
