Mise au point d'un refroidisseur à deux étages à tube à pulsations.

Two-stage inter-phasing pulse tube cooler development.

Résumé

The pulse tube coolers have a potential to be lower cost, lower vibration and more reliable due to no moving parts at low temperatures. A two-stage pulse tube cooler has been developed for cryogenic cooling applications at temperatures around 10 K. In this two-stage cooler, for increase in refrigeration efficiency, an inter-phasing mechanism was used to obtain the phase shift effect for the pulse tubes without using additional compressor work and is compared to the four-valve and the double inlet pulse tubes. This multiple staged cooler will also be more compact by elimination of the gas reservoirs. Capacity and performances are indicated. The refrigeration efficiency and temperature stability, as well as reduction of the loss from orientation in pulse tube coolers, are also described and discussed.
