Modélisation CFD open source d’éjecteurs diphasiques au CO2.

Open-source CFD modelling of two-phase CO2 ejectors.

Résumé

There has been extensive research on the effectiveness of two-phase ejectors in improving CO2 heat pumps. However, achieving enhanced performance requires a precise ejector design influenced by multiple flow phenomena within the ejector. This task has proven challenging due to complexities in numerical studies, with the primary challenge being the modelling of two-phase non-equilibrium flow resulting from sudden phase changes. To capture the non-equilibria between phases, we employ an Eulerian-Eulerian two-fluid model, which is developed within an open-source library, OpenFOAM. When compared with available experimental data, the results demonstrate a high level of accuracy in predicting the motive mass flow rate, with an average deviation of approximately 2%. While the average deviation of the predicted suction flow rate is around 12%, it still outperforms predictions made by other models. The work is on-going and further improvements in the prediction by modifying bubble diameter, heat transfer and turbulence models is sought.
