Résumé

This paper presents the thermodynamic modelling of a reciprocating compressor for CO2 refrigeration cycle. Based on the mass conservation, energy conservation and momentum's law, the gas flow through the suction/discharge ports, gas leakage and the dynamics of the self-acting valves were considered. With this model, the thermodynamic parameters such as the pressure and temperature in the compressor cylinder were calculated, and the flow rate as well as the power consumption was predicted, from which the cooling capacity and COP were obtained. With the indication diagram and curves for valve dynamics focused on, the simulation results were analyzed. The CO2 property and the influence of the superheat and heat transfer during the compression process on the compressor performance were also discussed. With this model, a single stage reciprocating CO2 compressor with two cylinders was developed.
