Résumé

Safety and comfort issues in historical buildings are described in this paper. These buildings are related to the problems of intricate urban context, complex layout of the inside architecture, old structural and furniture materials used. Moreover, these critical aspects must agree with the characteristics of usable security and conservation of the exhibit objects. It is possible to solve these aspects by using a light invasive system which provides indoor safety and comfort maintaining the original architectural aspects. The optimisation of the project can be seen as a synthesis of different demands such as functionality, aesthetics, comfort, safety, costs and maintenance.
