Résumé

The paper analyses the opportunities for using dehumidifier dryers to add product value, provide new products and reduce energy costs and associated environmental impacts. A case study is presented for timber drying in New Zealand. In order to secure its potential, the dehumidifier industry, supported by professional institutions, should actively promote best practice in dehumidifier applications including rating-capacity and efficiency standards, recognized performance benchmarks, and endorsed drying schedules.
