Résumé

This article gives an outline of a cold store newly built in Thailand. An ammonia liquid-pump system is applied, which has as advantages high efficiency and low running costs. Although a similar ammonia refrigeration system is applied widely in the world, the application of ammonia as the refrigerant seems to be restricted within a small area in Japan due to severe regulations applied by the government. With a view to preventing ozone depletion and global warming, the author understands that the most natural and reasonable solution is to apply ammonia, which shows excellent performance in industrial refrigeration, for a bigger area.
